What Can I do to Help My Healing?

There is a lot you can do to give yourself the best chance for a quick recovery.

  1. Improve your posture.  Learn proper sitting and lifting methods.
  2. Specific exercises and stretches may be suggested to help retrain the muscles that support the spine.
  3. Proper rest is an important aspect of the healing process.
  4. Avoid sleeping on your stomach.
  5. Proper nutrition is very important. Make sure you eat balanced meals, and if you’re overweight, now would be a good time to slim down and reduce unnecessary stresses to your spine.
  6. Perhaps most important of all, keep your appointments and follow your chiropractors recommendations for optimum results.

Proper rest, stretches, exercise, and improvement of poor posture are especially important during the healing process.
